**GARAGES**
Weather you need more space or storage area for all your toys, a Garage is a great thing to have. We specialize in custom garages of any size, shape and configuration. We can even REHAB your existing garage to get it up to speed. Below, we have a wide variety of garage projects for you to review.
Project #1
This garage was built for people who really needed the storage space. It is a 14' wide 30' long garage with 2 overhead doors, one in the front, and one on the side.
With a clean slate, we began with digging and pouring a monolithic footer and floor as described on the "Foundations" page.
This project required running wire in the concrete.
Here you can see on the left, where the overhead door in the front will be, and on the right, where the overhead door on the side will be.
Both overhead doors are visible here.
With the electric package complete, the exterior finished and the final clean-up, we can call that wrapped up.
Project #2
Here we took down an old worn down garage and replaced it with a two story garage.
You can clearly see it was time for a new garage.
This garage didn't put up much of a fight.
Now with the old garage down, we can begin digging the footer. This garage required a block foundation. See the "Foundations" page for more information.
With the footer poured and the block laid, we covered the block work to wait for better weather to pour the floor.
Since the weather wasn't cooperating, we decided to continue the project by framing out the 1st story, so we can pour the floor under roof.
We use 7/16" OSB all the way around, not just on the corners. Because this is a 2 story, we used engineered "I" joists for the floor of the 2nd story.
These photos show where we framed in the opening for the staircase, and the staircase itself.
Here we've started on the 2nd story walls and the trusses.
After finishing up the framing, we begin the roofing, siding & soffits.
WOW! What a great improvement to their home. Please look at the "Remodeling" page where you can see some siding work we did on the home that goes with this beautiful garage.
Project #3
This project is a repaired garage. This garage was struck by a car at high speeds. The impacted moved the front half of the garage off of it's foundation about 6 to 8 inches, dislocating it about 12' back.
It also jarred the door beyond use.
This one was going to be tricky, but we like a challenge. We started by placing supports under the roof and removing the door and a few panels that would have to be replaced.
After shoring up the walls and getting them back on the foundation, new panels were installed.
As we removed a few more pieces of plywood, we found that the corner post area had quite a bit of damage from rotting and maybe insects.
So we replaced the corner with new wood and installed new plywood pieces on the sides.
After installing a new overhead door, service door and a fresh coat of paint, the garage looks brand new.
Project #4
This project is in the Historic Area of Indianapolis.
They had a carport and were in need of a garage, not only to protect their cars, but for the storage space as well. We started out by taking down their existing carport and digging the footer for the new garage.
A monolithic footer and floor was poured and a row of block set. Once the concrete cured, we were ready to start the framing.
Once the framing was complete, we shingled the roof and installed the siding. Being in the historic area, they required fiber cement siding for this project. At this point, we also poured the new apron, drive and walk to the service door.
The siding was primed and painted and the doors were installed. The historic society also required a wood door for this project. The owners decided to have the door stained. With the landscaping they did, the project turned out great!
Keep checking back with us. We are working on a few new project right now.
